Deal or no deal, analysts like Hong Kong Telecom

Article Abstract:

Some analysts insist that Hong Kong Telecommunications stocks remain a safe bet for investors even as no deal premium has yet been reflected in the company's stock price. It had earlier been reported that China is trying to acquire a major stake in the company. Even if the reported bid fails to push through, analysts say that Hong Kong Telecom's steady 15% annual earnings growth is enough to recommend its stock as a good buy.

Indosat to link up with call-back rival by purchasing 20% stake in U.S. firm

Article Abstract:

PT Indonesian Satellite announced that it has acquired a 20% stake in USA Global Link Inc., a provider of call-back services. The transaction is not that large but it has attracted attention because of the fact that an Asian carrier is buying into a US competitor. Like other Asian governments, Indonesia prohibits callback services but there is nothing to stop consumers from using them.
