Debut of 'Chicken Little' gives Disney something to crow over

Article Abstract:

Walt Disney Co. of the United States has released the animated movie, "Chicken Little" to a chorus of approximately $40.1 million in opening weekend ticket sales across North America. Walt Disney Co. is planning further animation releases with "Meet the Robinsons", "American Dog" and "Rapunzel Unbraided". The movie industry giant is in contract negotiations with Pixar Animation Studios.

Disney posts 12 percent increase in net on strong gains at ABC Division

Article Abstract:

Walt Disney Co. of the United States posted 12 percent net income increase in the second quarter to $733 million from $657 million last year. Revenue rose three percent to $8.03 billion from $7.83 billion last year. Slow revenue from the movie studio was offset by strong returns at the ABC television unit and earnings increases at the theme park with the 50th Anniversary festival.

Disney net rises 7% on theme parks

Article Abstract:

Walt Disney Co. of the United State posted a seven percent net income rise to $734 million for the 2006 1st quarter. Revenue was buoyed by the United States theme parks and ABC television, although the movie sector was stressed. The entertainment industry conglomerate has announced it is to sell most of its radio assets to Citadel Broadcasting Corp. for $2.7 billion.
