Diving schools are common in the Asia-Pacific region and the best known area is the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park in Australia, which has the largest single collection of coral reefs in the world. The marine park is best visited from Cairns and nearby Port Douglas. Diving companies offer dive and snorkelling packages, and Deep Sea Divers Den provides trips for trained divers, courses fo open water certification and introductory dives. The water visibility between September and March can exceed 25 metres or more and this is the best time to visit the reef.

This party is also benefiting from declining support for the ruling Liberal Democratic Party and from frequent changes in opposition alliances. The party is now considering joining a coalition government before the end of the 1990s. However, some observers believe that it will remain on the periphery of Japanese politics as long as it retains its Marxist-Leninist image.
