Degussa to sell food division: unit may fetch $867 million

Article Abstract:

Germany's Degussa AG is in the process of divesting itself of subsidiaries that do not fit its major focus as a specialty chemicals company. So far it has earned 3.8 billion euros from the sale of 19 divisions. It is now planning the sale of food flavoring and additives company Degussa Food Ingredients GmbH, and has hired Lazard Brothers and Company Ltd. to help it find a buyer.

E.On sells energy-service unit

E.On AG is selling off its Viterra Energy Services unit to CVC Capital Partners for 845 million euros. The sale is part of E.On's plan to divest its noncore operations.
