Online retailers, despite the failures of some of their colleagues in 2000, are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of logistics planning in their operations. These include the capability to handle multiple orders while conducting such everyday processes as warehousing, inventory management and customer service. These retailers are expected to be multi-channel retailers capable of processing oders from such media as the Internet, telephone, mail and in-store operations.
