JELVED HOLDER FORSIKRING UDEN FOR FINANS-GIGANTER

Article Abstract:

Insurance and pension companies will not be included in the new legislation which is aimed at facilitating mergers in the Danish financial sector. Marianne Jelved, Minister of Economics, says she will retain the difference between lenders and investors, and that insurance companies are considered being primarily investors. In the EU, only banks and mortgage lending institutes are defined as credit institutes. According to the paper, both the insurance and mortgage lending sectors are against this categorical definitions of their activities.
