Denmark: Stronger demand for satellite phones

Article Abstract:

The demand for Thrane & Thrane's satellite phones has grown stronger following the US terror attack on 11 September. So says managing director Klaus Torp of Polaris Electronics, an Aalborg-based company that provides satellite communication services. Thrane & Thrane's investor relations executive John Alexadersen says the company will not be able to say much at this stage as it is in the process of merging with Nera, the Norwegian producer of satellite communication equipment. Overall, companies operating within mobile communications have coped better in the aftermath of the terror attack compared with many other businesses.
