Article Abstract:

The Parkland Group's dyehouse and textile-manufacturing facility was designed by Nicholas Grimshaw & Partners. The design reflects the process and incorporates a modular external envelope, with the primary cladding system composed of composite metal panels and interchangeable glazing units. There are full height bays of Planar glazing allowing natural light into the factory. There is much column-less space and the free standing internal mezzanine floors provide office and plant room space. A cost analysis and summary is provided.
