Oneok withdraws bid for Southwest Gas

Oneok Inc. has terminated its efforts to acquire Southwest Gas Corp. due to the prospect of prolonged litigation. Oneok was bidding to acquire Southwest Gas for $900 million (891.5 million euros).

Cyprus and Asarco shares decline on merger deal

Article Abstract:

Cyprus Amax Minerals Co. and Asarco Inc. saw their share values decline by over 3% following the moderate investor response to the companies' proposed merger. Cyprus and Asarco are proposing to merge in a deal worth $736.9 million (722.7 million euros). According to analysts, the market may be reacting to the fact that both companies are not receiving a premium for their stock.
