Elico Limited of Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh was the first company in Andhra Pradesh to produce electronic instruments for use in spectro-photometry, electro-chemistry, flame photometry, water quality analysis and gas analysis. It was the first firm to make pH meters in India. It also produces various kinds of switches for use in consumer electronics and telecommunication. It has secured the ISO 9001 certification for design, development, manufacturing and servicing of analytical instruments and professional grade switches. Elico Limited is trying to get the CE (European) certification for its products. Ramesh Datla is the managing director of Elico Limited. (ag/kvr)
