EU energy strategy aims to curb carbon emissions

In an attempt to control global warming, the European Union is proposing strategies for increasing energy efficiency. European business groups are protesting that the plan's carbon dioxide emissions targets are too high, while environmental activists feel the targets are too low.

EU web site aims to curb mobile-phone charges

The European Union has launched a Web site that compares the prices and rates of mobile phone services. The European bloc has been researching "roaming charges", launching the Web site to encourage transparency and provide a service to consumers.

EU mobile operators to cut roaming charges
