EU to propose energy overhaul

Article Abstract:

The European Commission is proposing legislation to improve competition within the European Union energy market and decrease the power of national monopolies. Possible initiatives include breaking up ownerships or the less drastic option, ownership unbundling, which would require firms that own both utilities and transit networks to sell off one or the other of those businesses.
