According to the president of Spanish nuclear equipment company Ensa (Equipos Nucleares), sales are expected to reach over Pta 7,000mn in 19998. The company currently has orders to produce 18 steam generators for the US, China and Slovenia and 2 storage and transport containers for used fuel for Enresa. The company is currently involved in dismantling nuclear plants which have become obsolete in industrialised nations.

The 28% stake in Spanish construction group FCC (Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas) acquired from Alicia Koplowitz by her sister Esther will be sold. The transaction was merely temporary in order to take the necessary time to look for the right partner. Esther is said to be currently in talks to sell part or all of the shares to a firm which would be suitable for FCC and which would shore-up the group's growth.

Alcatel Espana vendera Cegelec a Alsthom y su filial espacial a una empresa mixta con Thomson

As part of its restructuring process, telecoms equipment company in Spain, Alcatel Espana, is planning to sell its subsidiaries Cegelec and Alcatel Espacio, and later its military communications division. Alcatel Espacio will be sold to the parent company in France, which plans to transfer the activity to a joint subsidiary to be set up with Thomson and Aerospatiale. Cegelec will be sold to Alsthom.
