Ericsson's profit is expected to drop 34%

Analysts are predicting that Telefon AB LM Ericsson will post a drop of 34% in its pretax earnings for the first-half of 1999. Analysts predict that Ericsson will report 5.01 billion kronor (574.7 million euros) in pretax profits for the period. During the same period in 1998, the telecommunications giant posted 7.57 billion kronor. However, Ericsson's performance in the 1999 second-quarter is expected to improve over the first-quarter.
