Estimating a fuzzy term structure of interest rates using fuzzy regression techniques

Article Abstract:

A method is proposed for adjusting the temporal structure of interest rates (TSIR) based on fuzzy regression techniques, that would enable quantification of the anticipated rates in the fixed income markets for the future with fuzzy numbers. Emphasis is laid on the estimation of the TSIR with triangular fuzzy numbers because of their desirable properties.

A two-phase learning method with adaptive capability is proposed. It is demonstrated in simulation results that the proposed methods can use fuzzy knowledge to effectively find customers' attentive degrees of attributes.
