Exito de las farmacias en la disuasion de los fumadores

Article Abstract:

According to the General Council of the Spanish School of Pharmacists, there has been a 40% success rate for smokers trying to quit through the Smoking Prevention and Treatment campaign launched over a year ago. Men accounted for around 60% and women 40% of 163 smokers participating in the scheme. The average age for participating men was 42, while the average age for women was 38. According to the director of the programme at the La Princesa hospital in Madrid, around 70% of Spanish smokers want to kick the habit.

El 70% de los fumadores ha intentado dejar el tabaco

Article Abstract:

According to the professor of epidemiology of the Complutense university in Seville, Spain, 70% of smokers have tried to kick the habit at least once in their lives. The success rate is around 15% in smokers who have sought the advice of family, friends or a physician. The rate is only 5% in those who try to quit instantly. The addictive effect of smoking is seen in the fact that half of smokers want to quit, while 70% have tried to, according to professor Jose Ramon Benegas.

El CSC advierte de la discriminacion telefonica rural

Article Abstract:

Rural areas in Spain are said to be discriminated against regarding Internet and fax data transmission, according to the CSC (Social Council for Communications). The CSC claims data transmission is 10 to 15 times slower than in the rest of the country. There is also bad voice quality and noisy communication according to the CSC which claims it cannot accept the allegation that this is due to cost.
