Several interface cards such as the BCD450 from BCD Associates in the United States will hook Apples up to videocassette players. Interactive video mixes text and graphics-based training software with video. The person using the interactive system has the option of switching back and forth from computer to video, as well as going to any place desired in the material being used with ease. Besides training interactive video is also being used more and more in information retrieval and point-of-sale systems.

With the New World from Epyx players become the king or queen of England, France or Spain in the 1500's and then go about conquering and pillaging North and South America, and trying to do more of that than one's opponent or opponents (up to three can play). The game is mostly text-based but does offer graphics such as continental maps. While interesting the game is full of serious programming flaws, for example its habit of ending the game if the RETURN key is hit accidentally. One screen display is included.
