Cegetel has presented Webmeeting, a new videoconferencing service billed at FFr 2.25 (out of taxes) per user and per communication minute. No reservation, nor subscription, nor software to download, is required to make use of the service (by fixed, mobile phone, or fax) which also ables to share Internet documents. To set up a conference, one only calls a free phone number (starting 0 805), and sends his PowerPoint files over Cegetel Entreprises' Internet site. During the meeting, the host is informed whenever a user joins in.

FRANCE: WEB CALL CENTRES ON THE RISE

Article Abstract:

There will be 570 Web call centres in France in 2003, according to Datamonitor which sees this country as the most advanced in this business, behind England (950 such units that year) and Germany (960). Today, only 56 of France's network of 2,140 call centres are actual Web units. Web call centres, which require a staff with strong skills, are able to handle human calls and electronic messages and contacts from a Web site altogether.
