FRANCE: IGN MAPS AVAILABLE IN CD-ROM VERSION

Article Abstract:

For the first time ever, the maps published by IGN have been made available in CD-ROM version, retailing at between EUR 23 and 30 out of taxes depending on the surface covered. Each CD-ROM covers half a departement in general, with the same scale (1:25,000) as the paper version. A search engine called CartoExploreur allows you to zoom on a village, a path or any special spot, find a spot by entering its name or geographical data, and get a printed copy (A4 format, with the existing scale or any other scale). This product is published by Bayo Import.

FRANCE: NEW ENTITY FOR ATOS-ORIGIN

Article Abstract:

The Franco-Dutch IT services group, Atos-Origin, has created a new division, specialised in facilities management services, integration, and integrated management software. Employing 5,000, the division, Enterprise Services will manage four branches dedicated to software by SAP, Baan, PeopleSoft or Oracle, and their sales via its host application service. The group claims the number one position in France on this sector.
