Fast food in France

Article Abstract:

The fast foods market in France is extremely buoyant, with hamburger restaurants accounting for 10.7 billion of the 12.7 billion French francs turnover achieved by fast food chains during 1995. The economic recession combined with busier lifestyles has resulted in more customers for low-cost eating establishments. The fast food industry offers a variety of foods, including Mexican, Italian and Lebanese, but almost half of the 1,430 fast food outlets in France are hamburger restaurants.
