Ferrovial's profit jumps by 20%

Grupo Ferrovial S.A. of Spain posted a soaring net profit first half increase by 20 percent to 237.3 million Euros ($302.6 million) from 198.2 million Euros last year. Revenues at the construction company were due to the successful consolidation of recent acquisitions. Grupo Ferrovial S.A. is the second largest construction industrial in Spain.

Ferrovial's net plunges by 49%, hit by debt costs

Article Abstract:

Full-year 2007 net profit for Spanish construction company Ferrovial S.A. fell 49% to 733.7 mil euro, due in part to increased servicing expenses related to its 30 bil euro debt. Total revenue rose by 18% to 14.63 bil euro, helped by its acquisition of BAA, an airport operator that manages major UK airports.

Spain's Sacyr raises stakes in debate on cross-border deals

Article Abstract:

The Spanish construction company Sacyr Vallehermoso S.A. has launched an all-stock hostile takeover bid for French firm Eiffage in a deal totaling $8.83 bil. Sacyr's offer is to acquire the remaining 66.8% of Effiage it does not already own. Nationalism is expected to have an impact on the process.
