Fininvest SpA's listing expected to face hurdles

Article Abstract:

Fininvest SpA of Milan, Italy, a media company owned by Silvio Berlusconi, may face problems involving its reported plan to embark on an initial public offering (IPO). Analysts believe that Fininvest is preparing to offer its shares to the public by pooling its media assets under one umbrella company while setting apart its financial services concerns under another arm. Analysts say that Fininvest is likely to sell well in the stock market were it not for Berlusconi's legal problems. Berlusconi is facing a number of corruption charges as well as a charge of false bookkeeping.
