First live ATN flight trials in Australia

Article Abstract:

ATN equipment is being tested in flight trials in Australia. A Beech 350 aircraft belonging to Airservices carried out three flights during two days of trials in May 2000 during a collaborative research and development project between Airsys ATM and Airservices Australia. Signal quality, response and transit times were the information measured for analysis of the performance of the VDL-2 service in a live environment.

Northrop buys Litton Denro

Article Abstract:

Northrop Grumman Corp has acquired Litton Industries Inc, including Litton Denro, for an estimated $5.1 billion. The deal, which is still subject to US government approval in the 1st qtr of 2001, includes the assumption of Litton's $1.3 billion debt. With the acquisition, Northrop Grumman will strengthen its position in systems integration, defense electronics and information technology.

Litton Denro

Article Abstract:

Litton Denro has been awarded a contract by Zafer of Turkey to supply two additional ETVS voice communication systems to the Turkish Air Force. The equipment are due for delivery early in 2001. In addition, the company is required by the contract to install high-bright, sunlight, readable color touch screens at the control towers of Turkey's Balikesir and Diyarbakir airports.
