France enters MPA program

Article Abstract:

France is about to sign a memorandum of understanding involving its entry into a German/Italian MPAP 2000 maritime patrol aircraft replacement program. France's accession in the program includes its acceptance of the German-Italian Common European Staff Requirement for the MSA. Thus, the tactical command system and the various subsystems provided in the MSA solution will be common in all three countries' fleets. France's Navy is upgrading 25 of its existing Atlantique 2 platforms while Germany and Italy require new aircraft.
