The increasingly harsh anti-American attacks by France's President Jacques Chirac and Lionel Jospin, the country's prime minister, are threatening the alliance of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. American disaffection with French hyperbole may result in policy changes in Washington.

Article Abstract:

The draft resolution presented by the United States and United Kingdom to the United Nations Security Council would establish a "sovereign interim government" in Iraq by the end of June, and would allow foreign troops to remain for a minimum of one year, subject to review by Iraq.
