France's EDF picked to build Egypt plants

Article Abstract:

The Egyptian Electricity Authority has contracted Electricite de France International SA to construct two 650-megawatt power generating facilities. The contract will cost approximately $900 million. The plants will be built under the build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) system. EDF will also provide power to the Egyptian Authority for the entire 20-year contract period for a rate of 2.37 cents for every kilowatt hour.

MGM hopes Dubai partner will open new doors

United Arab Emirates holding company Dubai World will buy a 9.5% stake in MGM Mirage for approximately $5 bil in a deal that will also give it an equal partnership in the CityCenter project MGM Mirage is constructing on the Las Vegas Strip. MGM Mirage's link with Dubai World will provide access to the holding company's wealthy international clientele base.
