France's car giant Renault no longer navigating easy street

Article Abstract:

Renault, the top automobile maker in France, is experiencing tough times as it celebrates its 100th anniversary. This company is the largest advertiser in that country. Renault worldwide art director Patrice Clipez noted that automobile advertising does not produce instant results. Clipez stressed that brand communications can raise brand awareness to make the vehicle most likely to be purchased by consumers. Clipez also stated that he was able to integrate advertising into the marketing segment rather than the communications department of Renault's operations.

France Telecom holds its own

Article Abstract:

France Telecom, the former French telephone service monopoly, has developed an aggressive pricing and marketing strategy as well as an advertising campaign to cope with the challenges poised by its new competitors. Telephone companies, such Cegetel and 9 Telecom, have introduced their services in France after the state government deregulated the sector in compliance with European Union's guidelines.
