Financial investors see the ability to exit from buyouts as an important criteria when deciding to invest in European businesses. Liquidity is accessible in the UK markets, but European stock is less easy to dispose of. European businesses have begun to realise the importance of shareholder value, increasing the need to improve the exit environment. The buyout market will benefit from greater exit opportunities, which could reduce equity supply if not checked.

Moving towards one Europe
Article Abstract:
British businesses looking to acquire European firms are faced with a number of considerations relating to European culture and laws. European firms tend to join together in partnership rather than merge as they do in the United Kingdom. European employees belonging to firms which are regulated by the European Maastricht Treaty have different rights to those in Britain. Other differences such as acquisition laws and market structures are described.

Candover fund first closing at euro 1.1 bn

Candover Investments are discussed with emphasis on their origins and economic aspects. Candover closed its 2001 Fund at 1.1 billion euros and will be use the money for buyouts in Europe.
