GE and Honeywell seek EU approval through stake sale

General Electric Co. (GE) has offered to sell off a minority share of its aviation-financing unit in order to convince the European Union to approve its planned acquisition of Honeywell International Inc. The planned acquisition is valued at $42 billion (48.81 billion).

General Electric Co.'s (GE) planned acquisition of Honeywell International Inc. has been approved by the US Department of Justice. The $40 billion (44.7 billion euros) deal won approval after Honeywell agreed to sell off its helicopter engine division.
