GGOF putting funds into Web effort

Article Abstract:

GGOF Guardian Group of Funds has launched a new print and Web-based campaign on jan 3, 2001, to show the company's transformation from a conservative, pension-fund-like company to a more aggressive mutual fund company. Its teaser campaign features a single URL, www.HowToBeAMillionaireWithoutGoingOnAGameShow.com and GGOF's new internally developed logo. The Web site provides surfers with humorous options on hotw to become a millionaire. The site then leads to GGOF's new Web site, www.ggof.com. To promote the URL, the company is also running ads in 11 daily newspapers across the country and in trade magazines.

Joseph, Durnam leave agencies

Article Abstract:

Darcia Joseph is stepping down as president and COO of Young and Rubicam in Toronto. She will be succeeded by the agency's co-creative director John Farquhar, who will assume the title of president and chief creative officer. Joseph will remain COO until such time that the transition has been smoothen out. Meanwhile, Bill Durnan is resigning as president and CEO of Ammitrati Puris. He will be replaced by Arthur Fleischmann, the agency's senior VP and managing director.

Creating the wrong image

Article Abstract:

Reports of doctored photographs of public personalities have highlighted the impact of digital technology in transforming the communication arts. New technological advancements will continue to bring more changes in the manner by which content is created and distributed. Thus, the existing legal structure of copyright ownership in Canada will have to be radically changed to reflect the complexities posed by the multimedia industry in a digital age.
