GOODRICKE GROUP BREWS STRATEGY FOR FUTURE GROWTH

Article Abstract:

Goodricke Group Ltd, involved in the tea industry, has adopted a strategy for growth. It is focusing on increasing production and quality. The price of quality tea is Rs20-25 more than that of the others. It is now considering increasing the production of quality tea. Tea produced by its units in Darjeeling is of low quality and has not fetched even the cost of its production. Goodricke Group Ltd will sell tea through auction and directly. It will also export tea. In 1998, its exports were a little over 25 percent of its total production of tea. It has also decided to revive its instant tea operations. (um/kvr)
