Gazprom audit uncovers generous loans to outsiders

OAO Gazprom has made loans valued at 914.6 million euros to other companies during the 1999-2000 period. Many of the loans did not include interest. The data originated from a five-month audit of the company.

Gazprom exceeded results estimates in the first-half

OAO Gazprom posted an increase of 35% in its sales for the first-half of 2000. The company, as a result of strong export earnings, posted 247.75 billion rubles (10.23 billion euros) in sales for the period.

Gazprom swings to a net profit of 11.55 billion euros

OAO Gazprom posted a net profit of 286.11 billion rubles (11.55 billion euros) for the 2000 year. The company, which benefited from a deferred profit tax, posted a loss in 1999.
