Gazprom warns EU that gas plan could hurt supply

Article Abstract:

Russia's OAO Gazprom has stated that the European Union's plan to separate supply and network businesses in the gas sector may have a negative impact on Gazprom's services to the EU bloc. The EU has become concerned over the reliability of gas imports from Russia, which currently account for a quarter of the total supply to the EU bloc. In 2005, Gazprom shut down a key pipeline to the EU over a dispute involving the Ukraine.
