Gearbox gives 'greater control'

Article Abstract:

The QuickShift MGX gearbox launched by Twin Disc has electronic controls and gives better control to the skippers of fishing vessels during low - speed and docking operations. The gearbox engages in 0.05 seconds and full torque is achieved in 0.2 seconds and the company claims that is 10 - 15 times faster than any conventional gearboxes.

Pumpable ice for Icelandic ship

Article Abstract:

The eleventh liquid ice system by North Star Ice Equipment, Seattle was delivered to the Icelandic ship Hrafn Sveinbjarnarson. The system produces liquid ice that can be pumped that fills in the void between the fishes offering greater cooling than conventional flake ice.

Kvannoy freezes more with CO2

Article Abstract:

The York Refrigeration Marine CO2 system freezes over 200 tons of blocks in a day in the 75-meter Norwegian pelagic trawler 'Kvannoy'. This is the first modern vessel that employs natural refrigerant CO2 for freezing.
