Geo/G/1 discrete time retrial queue with Bernoulli schedule

Article Abstract:

A model is derived to analyze the discrete Geo/G1 retrial queue Bernoulli schedule wherein time is slotted into intervals of equal lengths and all queueing activities occur at slot boundaries. The analytic formula for the generating function of the joint distribution of the number of customers in the waiting space and retrial orbit is first derived. Recursive formulas for the marginal steady state probabilities of the number of customers in the waiting space and retrial orbit are then determined. Applications of these recursive formulas are discussed.

A single-server retrial queue with server vacations and a finite number of input sources

Article Abstract:

A single-server queueing system with no waiting space and a finite number of customers is studied. Specifically, the limiting probability distribution, system throughput and mean delay of the system were obtained via the method of supplementary variables. The system's server serves only one customer at a time such that arriving customers are forced to leave and return whenever it is busy or on vacation. Its application to the Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection protocol for computer networks is also discussed.
