Skandal: Germany

German Economy Minister Jurgen Mollemann, a once-powerful figure in the Free Democratic Party (FDP), has been ousted in a nepotism scandal. Gunter Rexrodt of the Treuhandanstalt agency may be chosen to replace Mollemann. Klaus Kinkel is favored to become head of the FDP.

Germany's Klaus Kinkel could very well become head of the country's Free Democratic Party, despite his sedate, unassuming style. Recently named Germany's new foreign minister, Kinkel has a unique knack of conciliating different political interests there.
