Getting a head start

Article Abstract:

S and S-TUG has introduced the TMD-PLC series of air starters in 1st qtr 2001 with capacities ranging from 68 to 181km/min. Power is provided by a four-cycle Detroit Diesel electronically controlled engine and GHH compressor coupled to a Programmable Logic Controller. The system will provide maintenance diagnostics and reduce the number of parts/connections in the TMD electric system. The operator/diagnostic interface incorporates self-diagnostic operational checks of all circuits, allowing a problem to be isolated to the specific circuit and component causing the problem.
