Gewista setzt auf elektronische Werbemedien

Article Abstract:

Following the success of Infoscreens, the first electronic outdoor advertising media in the underground railway network of the Austrian capital, Gewista is to introduce Trainscreens on Vienna underground trains in the next two years. The electronically controlled screens carry information and advertising. Gewista, Austria's biggest outdoor advertising company, reports a group turnover of Sch 960mn for 1997. 1998 sales are expected to exceed the Sch 1bn mark.

Mobilkommunikation setzt sich in Unternehmendurch

Article Abstract:

In a poll commissioned by Mobilkom, GfK states that 400,000 of the 1.57mn portable phones in use in Austria are being used in companies. In the next 12 months companies are planning to increase the number by 170,000 phones worth Sch 4mn. Mobilkom claims 57% of the Austrian market for portable phones in business use, while Max.mobil holds a 22% share. The remaining 21% of users are subscribers to the D-network.

Article Abstract:

In 1997, the production value of Austria's automotive industry amounted to Sch 75.5bn. Of the total about Sch 14bn relates to the production of complete vehicles, of which Austria made 97,774 units. The industry employs about 31,000 people. Including indirect jobs, the employment effect of the industry is estimated at 163,000 jobs. 76% of automotive industry companies in Austria have less than 100 staff, while only 3% have 1,000 or more.
