Global Crossing will acquire C&W unit

Article Abstract:

The undersea cable unit of Cable and Wireless PLC will be acquired by fiber optic networks firm Global Crossing Ltd. for $725 million in cash. Hamilton, Bermuda-based Global Crossing, which is planning to construct undersea networks that will join land-based networks around the world, recently obtained US-based Frontier Corp. for $11.2 billion.

Allianz will take stake in Pimco

Allianz AG has reached an agreement to acquire a majority share of Pimco Advisors Holdings LP for $3.3 billion (3.13 billion euros). Allianz will purchase 70% of Pimco.
