Greece's Intracom expects big jump in quarterly profit

Article Abstract:

Intracom SA of Greece is expecting to post pretax profits of five billion drachmas ($16.9 million) for the first-quarter of 1999. During the same period in 1998, the company posted 2.2 billion drachmas. Intracom is a supplier of electronics and telecommunications. The company is expecting to see a 72% increase in sales to 25 billion drachmas for the 1999 year. In 1998, Intracom posted 14.5 billion drachmas.

Marconi extends its deadline for revamp, reports net loss

Marconi PLC has postponed yet again the deadline for its comprehensive financial restructuring program. The company also posted a 198 million pounds (292.3 million euros) net loss for the fiscal third quarter.
