Growing environmental awareness in Scotland

Article Abstract:

There has been an increased awareness of environmental risk assessment within the mergers and acquisitions market of Scotland during the late 1990s. Fund providers have to consider the sensitivity of projects with regard to environmental issues and the possibility of subsequent media attention. The introduction of Integrated Pollution Prevention & Control guidelines by the end of 1999 will increase the number of firms which have to take into account environmental issues such as building on reclaimed industrial land or reducing gas emissions. Firms are undertaking environmental audits to safe guard future sales.
