HFCL BAGS Rs80-CR SDH EQUIPMENT ORDER

Article Abstract:

HFCL has got orders worth Rs80 crore to supply synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) transmission equipment from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) of the Government of India. It has got an order to supply STM 16 equipment, worth Rs40 crore, from DoT on May 14, 1998. It had already got a Rs40 crore order in April to supply SDH microwave equipment. DoT will be able to provide 30,000 lines on a single fibre between 2 exchanges using STM 16 equipment. (khr)

NIRMA RAISES Rs80.25 CR

Article Abstract:

Nirma Ltd, a producer of soaps and detergents, has mobilised Rs80.25 crore by privately placing non-convertible debentures (NCDs). This is to part-finance its on-going soda ash project. The company had come out with a Rs50 crore issue with a right to retain oversubscriptions. It got bids for over Rs100 crore and decided to retain Rs80.25 crore. The NCDs, rated LAAA by Icra, have a cut off interest rate of 13.5 percent a year. (khr)

ICI PLANS Rs80-CRORE INVESTMENT IN SOUTH

Article Abstract:

ICI India Ltd (ICI) plans to set up a Rs80-crore production facility in south India. The new unit which will be ICI's fifth production facility and is expected to have a production capacity of 20 million liters of paints per annum like the Mohali plant. The new unit is a part of ICI's plan to invest Rs300 crore by 2000 AD. It proposes to double its sales to Rs5,000 crore by 2005 AD by investing Rs500 crore to Rs1,000 crore. (ag)
