US private equity company Lone Star Funds does not anticipate legal complications in the selling of its 51% stake in Korea Exchange Bank to UK financial services firm HSBC Holdings PLC. The deal, valued at $6.3 bil, indicates HSBC's willingness to grow via acquisitions if organic growth is insufficient.

South Korea's Chohung is sold

Chohung Bank, a South Korean firm controlled by the government, has been acquired by Shinhan Financial Group. Shinhan acquired the goverment's 80.04% share in Chohung.

Commerzbank to reduce stake in lender
