Hactl changes identity

Article Abstract:

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd (HACTL) has adopted a new corporate logo under the leadership of Anthony Wong, its new managing director. Under his stewardship, HACTL is also implementing a new total quality management program as well as introducing new electronic business services. Since the start of 2000, the company already has online linkage with Tradelink for the rapid approval and verification of licenses and access to worldwide flight schedules.

ABB wins Taiwan award

Article Abstract:

ABB Airport Technologies is building a cargo handling system for the new cargo terminal being constructed by Evergreen Air Cargo Services at Chiang Kai-Shiek International Airport in Taiwan. The cargo handling system will handle 350,000 tons of cargo annually, with possible expansions in the future. The cargo handling system is equipped with unit load device handling systems, automatic storage and retrieval and an empty container handling system.

HK fees cut welcomed...

Article Abstract:

Hong Kong International Airport will offer lower landing and parking fees to boost its competitive edge, according to Airport Authority Chmn Dr Victor Fung Kwok-king. The move will entail a reduction of charges by 15% and will be effective from Jan 1, 2000. It is also expected to provide an incentive for the development of aviation in Hong Kong which will further strengthen its position as Asia's airfreight hub.
