Some republics of the former Soviet Union have agreed to share responsibility for foreign debt. The decision will facilitate debt negotiations and pave the way for future borrowing. The Vneshekonombank will continue to manage former Soviet debt and future borrowing.

Hard to be young: students in debt

Many students are finding themselves deeply in debt as they attempt to obtain a college education. College students who make use of student loans may graduate owing about $7,500 for a public school education or as much as $75,000 for a medical school education.
