Hamburger craze bites Hong Kong

Article Abstract:

McDonald's Snoopy-a-day toy promotion is generating compliments, and criticisms alike, from several consumers in Hong Kong. The promotion, where customers get a free new Snoopy toy in different national costumes at each Extra Value Meal they order, has been running for 28 days at 147 McDonald's branches in Hong Kong. Its popular figures include "Philippines Snoopy," where Snoopy is dressed as a datu and has a spear, Snoopy as a Beefeater, a Mexican Snoopy and an Alaskan Eskimo Snoopy. Several Hong Kong spectators stated that they view McDonald's promotion as too aggressive and ridiculous.
