Hard landing

Article Abstract:

A complicated system of land-use rights has resulted from a 1982 amendment to the constitution that allows the state to parcel out land for the private sector while the state retains ownership. Three types of land use rights exist: collective, allocated and granted. Each have their own stipulations and costs. Foreign investors need to take precautions before acquiring land use rights in China.
