Wireless web falls short of overambitious goals

Article Abstract:

Wireless web devices are dismally slow and cumbersome, making some wonder why anyone would want such a thing. Currently there are some cell phones, and the Palm and Blackberry available. But the market is waiting for Handspring's VisorPhone, a PDA, and Sprint's TP3000 with a PDA built in. Part of the problem is that wireless networks are not adequate to handle the dense data consumers want to send and receive, either in e-mail or in Web content.

HealthSouth Turns To the Internet To Boost Efficiency

Birmingham, Ala.-based HealthSouth Corp. has announced a new Internet strategy in an effort to create greater efficiency. HealthSouth, which has a chain of outpatient surgery and rehabilitation clinics in 2,000 locations, has annual revenues of $4 billion.
