Article Abstract:

Tony Robinson of TV archaeology programme Time Team reported that Roman artifacts found in the UK that pre-dated the 43AD invasion indicated that while conquering Gaul 100 years earlier, the Romans had also settled in Britain. Robinson appears to be the new voice of British archaeology and has captured something of the mood of historical education in present.

An educated approach

Article Abstract:

The need to re-evaluate funding schemes for school buildings in the U.K. is discussed on the basis of the new consultation paper introduced by the government. Attention is drawn to the problems of the earlier funding mechanisms, and to the latest Spending Review undertaking by the government for 2005/06, the time to shift to new methods in funding systems.

Walking on air

Article Abstract:

A new floor system manufactured by Protex, a Stockholm-based company in Scotland, Great Britain, raises the floor to provide a space below that can be used for services like air-conditioning systems, lighting etc. Such a floor would qualify as tax-deduction plant, machinery, fixture, and fittings (PMFF).
