Housing market processes, urban housing submarkets and planning policy

Article Abstract:

The development of an analytical framework that can be used to generate insights into the working of local land and property markets and provide the basis for planning policies is presented. The results of a research focusing on submarkets by dividing the city of Glasgow in six demonstrates a migration system with high levels of self containment to support a chosen degree of segmentation.

A detailed case study of Shenzen China's first special economic zone explores the relationship between urban development and planning in transitional economy. A perceptive understanding of the urban development provides important clues for understanding the nature of reform planning practice.

From concept to completion: a critical analysis of the urban village

Article Abstract:

A critical review of the 'life' of a planning concept named the urban village is provided. It is concluded that the urban village encapsulates not only a vision of a particular outcome of the development process but also a vision of a particular form of social activity.
